Our client has a strong presence in the Middle East as a progressive, focused and respected mine developer and operator. The company continues to expand and grow and is recognised for building world class operations in challenging environments and is currently seeking an experienced Chief Mine Geologist in an established open pit mine producing gold, silver, copper and zinc for an annual mill throughput exceeding 200,000 tonnes.
Key requirements include:
B.Sc. in Mining Geology or Geology.
8 years’ experience in the mining industry including active open pit mines with at least 2 years’ in a senior supervisory position.
Good knowledge of English.
Good knowledge and operation of geological software such as SURPAC.
Key tasks include:
Directing the operations of the Mine Geology department and managing its team members.
Generating ore body exploration target areas to be evaluated, interpreted and mined efficiently and economically.
Calculating ore body reserve, monitoring the grade of ore being mined and commenting, as required on the mining methods and techniques are employed to ensure maximization of grade and conservation of reserves.
